"The Last Picture Show": The 29th Athens International Film Festival presents 7 farewell screenings at IDEAL cinema

Following the sold out screenings organised last spring at IDEAL cinema, supporting the need to save it - just before its planned closure at the end of the year - and reiterating the demand for the preservation and reopening of all the historic cinemas of the centre, the 29th Athens International Film Festival returns to its beloved movie theater for seven farewell screenings - events, with newly digitally restored prints of legendary films.

In fact, four of these screenings ("The Silence of the Lambs", "Die Hard", "Pulp Fiction" and "Predator") have further symbolic significance as they were films that left a mark when they premiered at IDEAL cinema, while two of them will be screened in collaboration with MIDNIGHT EXPRESS.

It is worth noting that all the films will be screened for the first time in our country in the renewed, digital format that you will be able to watch.

Screened in an excellent digital restoration to mark the recent, 30th anniversary of the film.

Director: John McTiernan Starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, Bill Duke, Jesse Ventura Running Time: 107' Year of Production: 1987

A close-quarters showdown between a group of American marines and a bloodthirsty alien creature lurking hidden in a Latin American jungle, this stunning combination of bursting warfare and science fiction is one of the most classic adventure films of the 1980s. The film will be screened in its recent digital restoration.
